About Us

Specialty Services

We take great satisfaction in working with the latest and greatest technology, manufacturing and finishing processes at BA Forging Enterprises. It is absolutely imperative to us that we continue to research and understand the ongoing changes in our industry so that we can best convey them to our clients and provide them with the best possible options. A few of the many specialty services we offer include:

Heat Treating/Hardening

BA Forging prides itself on its proprietary heat treated processes on its aluminum products, including T-6, T-61, T-73, T-4, along with many other thermal heat treated finishings. This process is unique to the industry and helps to provides lower densities, resistance to corrosion and a higher strength to lower weight ratios. A quality finish is something our clients have come to expect from us.

Shot Blasting & Shot Peening

Shot Blasting, is the process of either forcibly propelling a stream of abrasive material at a part or of steel shots being thrown at a part at an extremely high rate of speed while maintaining the integrity of the part. This is a very effective process when cleaning a part, removing any imperfections or corrosion, and changing the shape or smoothing out the surface of the part. Shot blasting can also work to strengthen the part.

Shot Peening is similar to shot blasting, however it while shot blasting is meant to remove or chip away at unwanted corrosion and material, shot peening replaces tensile stress with compressive stress and as a result will strengthen the part. The shot used for peening is spherical in shape and as it hits the part it causes a round indentation which ultimately will create an evenly compressive stress pattern and eliminate unwanted defects in the part.

Another way to think about it is to say that while they are similar processes, shot peening removes less material than shot blasting. Both processes can be used to create uniformity, remove unwanted corrosion, rust, contaminants or oxidation, prepare a surface for coating or remove an unwanted coating and increase the strength of the part.

Vibratory Cleaning

Vibratory cleaning is a finishing process that works to remove unwanted roughness or sharp edges on a part. Media is added to a machine that vibrates and allows the media to rub against the part while the part turns in a corkscrew motion. The part is not loosely moving around, it is held securely in place which makes it a less aggressive option that is ideal for softer metals to avoid distortion of the metal.

Vibratory cleaning can also be used to achieve descaling, polishing, cleaning, edge breaking, deburring and material brightening.

Tool & Die Making

As an added benefit to our clients, we offer tool and die making. This is a process we currently handle on behalf of clients with a third party. We are happy to announce that starting in 2018, we will be handling the tool and die process in house where we will apply the same rigorous standards as we do with all of our products.

Machining

Machining is an additional process we offer to our clients. This is a process we handle on behalf of clients with a third party that we regularly work with and we are absolutely confident that they will treat your project with the same level of care as we do at BA Forging.

Anodizing

Anodizing is an additional process we offer to our clients. This is a process we handle on behalf of clients with a third party that we work with regularly and we are absolutely confident that they will treat your project with the same level of care as we do at BA
